Derrick-isms

I’ll occasionally have a few special features and some sayings you may not understand. So here’s a developing list of some Derrick-isms:

Daily D’oh: Ever watch The Simpsons? Then you know how Homer reacts when he does something unusually birdbrained. When there’s something particularly offbeat that’s trending, consider this is a sign that I’ll muse on all kinds of foolishness.

Hot Mess Express: A train frequently boarded with the tackiest of the tacky and craziest of the crazy ride, with some guest passengers from time to time.

Honey boo boo child: I’ve been using this term well before the “Toddlers & Tiaras” star got her own spinoff. For me, it’s a sweeter sounding equivalent of the backhanded southern church insult, “Bless your heart!”

I can’t: Something is so ridiculous or absurd that there really are no words. Speechlessness.

Translation: You know how people act and speak in the public eye… they say one thing and really mean another. “Translation” is my not-so-subtle ‘psst’ when I’m sifting through the PR speak and sophistry to get down to the nitty gritty. You’ll know when I’m using the dictionary definition of this word, for sure.

And for the other stuff that sounds like it might be in a dictionary, find out what it means here :)
